Aggregates

We provide the construction industry and quarries with the routine examination of aggregates to be used in concrete, render, mortar, screed and other hydraulic-cement mixtures, or as fill materials.  Petrographic examination of aggregates is valuable in assessing the type and quality of aggregates from new sources, and for monitoring the quality and consistency of aggregate supplied during construction projects.  The information on the type of aggregates, conditions, grading, surface textures, shapes and possible inherent potentially deleterious constituents, could help design the right mix proportion for the intended use, or the rejection of aggregates which are deemed to be substandard or not complying with the requirements of a particular project.  It is therefore important for aggregates to be routinely tested before and during construction projects.
